They Love Us

Dr. Lakey and the whole team at MAC are just wonderful. We have a nervous (but ultimately lovable) Great Dane and their sensitivity to HER sensitivity is so so appreciated. The MAC team work WITH you to support your pets, whether its their willingness to communicate in your preferred way (email, text, or phone) and because they have basically seen it all, you wont feel judged if your pet doesn't behave like an angel all the time. Especially for those with Giant Breeds, Dr. Lakey has had multiple big dogs, and has supported the Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love rescue and so there is that added plus for us of knowing the special needs of these kinds of dogs. Cannot recommend Dr. Lakey and the MAC team enough.

Dr. Lakey is an amazing Veterinarian who has tremendous knowledge of medicine and treatments for his patients . He treated our Maltese when he was healthy and when he became quite ill. Dr. Lakey possesses great compassion for animals and humans and I am forever grateful to him. Congratulations!

The vets and their team are consistently friendly, professional and supportive! Not only do they genuinely care about our pets' wellbeing, but they also have strong people skills which is very valuable! I've been to several vets through the years and I would highly recommend this team!

Dr. Lakey and staff have provided wonderful care and support to our dogs as well as our family. We have been blessed they have stood by us in times of adding new addition and through the loss of dogs through the years. We are currently moving 30 minutes further from his office and I am sure there are many vets in between but I will cherish every minute and mile I drive to continue having him and his staff as our vet. Dr. Lakey has been my vet for several years and his compassion really shows. My Dane had a medical emergency and Dr Lakey met me on a Sunday night at the clinic to take care of my big boy. I will definitely be driving to his new location. My fur babies refuse to see anyone else.

Finding, then meeting, a new vet can be challenging. I am glad I chose Midway Animal Clinic. They are welcoming, helpful, and compassionate. My appointment was on time and not rushed. Pricing is in line with the current standards. I need look no further. This is no cookie cutter corporate facility. In fact, it's growing in a good way. I look forward to an ongoing care relationship for my pets here.

Dr Lakey is the best. He has helped us through some tough times when we lost our Bailey and is helping us with our new addition Luna as well as our other fur babies Even though we live in Clemmons we'll be driving to the new location to see him.

Midway Animal Clinic is by far the best Animal Clinic around the Davidson County Area. Dr. Lakey and Dr. Haley and the office staff are truly a blessing. The care and compassion truly shows as soon as you walk into the building.

Whenever I take my fur babies to Dr. Lakey I feel very confident that he really pays attention to the animals and recognizes their needs. I have always had good positive results and wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

Pricing is great. I personally Love this vet office and their staff. Always willing to go the extra mile for your pet and is willing to take time to let them adjust to the office before handling them. (We have a dog who hates the vet and they do everything to make him comfortable before trying anything with him)

Dr. Lakey has always gone above and beyond to be available when we had any questions or concerns, as well as making appointments. He is very knowledgable and consistently gives great advice. Having him as our vet is well worth the drive from Charlotte! We wouldn't want our dog to see anyone else.

This isn't my first review of Midway and it probably won't be my last, but I can't say enough good things about this clinic and their whole team. I've brought my senior rescue dog to this practice since I adopted her when she was 7, coming up on six years ago now. She has a tremendous amount of anxiety about the vet (and everything, really), and is often very loud with her distressed barking, but they take such excellent care of her and don't shame her for it. We have to go at least once a month for routine allergy shots, and even more recently with some serious health concerns. The techs are always amazing when I call, and know my dog so well--they are gentle and coaxing with her when they come get her from the car, and know her by name (and bark :P). Dr. Lakey has called me a number of times after hours to give me test results and help navigate my dog's care, they've advocated for her and worked her into already booked up schedules, and techs have also stayed past 5 to help get me checked out over the phone to make sure I'm able to pick up necessary meds same day rather than waiting overnight. I know this above and beyond what they have to do, and that the time they spend with me and my senior puppy post-business hours is time away from their lives and families; I absolutely never expect it, but I'm so grateful when they give it. They all understand that your dog is part of your family, and treat them as such. You simply couldn't ask for a better vet team than this!!

Dr Lakey took care of our Maltese Bud E. He provided excellent medical care to Bud E throughout his life. Dr Lakey always treated Bud E and us with understanding and compassion. Cannot imagine a better vet to take care of our pets.

Dr. Lakey truly truly cares and takes the time to answer questions and offer support. He doesn’t make your pet feel like just a number and answers all questions without making me feel rushed or unheard. That is true bed side manner in a very difficult and hard job. To the staff of Midway Animal Clinic, thank you for all you do for our fur babies but most importantly for the kindness and compassion you show every time I call or bring one of my babies to see you. I truly appreciate you all!

We have been clients of Dr. Lakey for about 4 years. He is an absolutely AMAZING vet! His love and compassion for animals is evident the moment you meet him. He is patient with clients (humans and animals) and does a remarkable job keeping our fur babies healthy and happy. We're incredibly grateful for the quality care he provides.

While fostering (and later adopting!) a dog through Project Pearl, I met Dr. Lakey as he was the veterinarian for Gatsby during his medical treatment. I was immediately impressed with both his compassion and bedside manner. After visiting Dr. Lakey several times for Gatsby’s care, my husband and I decided to begin bringing our two other dogs to him as well. Although it was quite a drive from High Point, it was well worth it to find a veterinarian that was so skilled and so caring and always took the time to talk to us about each animal and any concerns he may have had. Dr. Lakey has now been our vet for almost 4 years, and he has gone above and beyond countless times when we have had emergencies or just needed his expert opinion. We highly recommend Dr. Lakey and we have never felt better having our animals under his care, knowing with full confidence that he cares and will always be there for us.

My dog is highly excitable and anxious, so I chose to bring her here rather than my normal vet for a booster and nail trim. My expectations weren't very high, mainly because most vets I've been to in the county have under trained technicians or they, themselves, are dismissive. Boy, was I wrong about Midway! Two wonderful techs made my anxious baby very comfortable and you could tell they had full control of the situation. This is the caliber I rate of a vets office, the first impression is everything and they didn't disappoint. I know now that I can take my fur babies there and not have to worry about them.

Dr. Lakey has been our vet and friend for several years. We were referred to him for the family feel of his clinic and we were not disappointed! Dr. Chad has cared for our dogs and cats from recent family additions to their last breathes. His compassion for our fur babies and his patience with my, "Hey Dr. Chad, I read on the Internet..." type of Pet Therapy observation... he is a good man to both 4 legged and 2 legged creatures! Dr. Lakey and all of his staff members are always professional, knowledgeable, kind, and take the time to listen to any concerns. Dr. Lakey is very thorough when presenting information and is respectful of the owner's choices when it comes to the care of their pet. Midway Animal Clinic was the best decision we made for the care of our pups.

Words cannot fully describe the care we have received from Dr. Lakey over the past 3 years. We were lucky to have his expertise and compassionate bedside manner when one of our three Shih tzus was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. Not only did he walk us through step by step the care our dog needed, but also fully invested time during the months following to make sure we were all adjusting to this diagnosis. He continued to go above and beyond in making sure his treatment was the best we could give him. Dr. Lakey truly cares about his patients and their owners. My husband was recently transferred to Greenville, SC. There is no way we will ever find another Dr. Lakey! He has a gift with animals and their owners and we will continue to commute to Winston Salem with our 3 dogs to remain under his care.

We are super fortunate to have Dr. Lakey to care for our sweet and crazy Weimaraner, Abby. He lovingly refers to her numerous and random injuries and sicknesses as 'The Chronicles of Abigail'. He cares about Abby's health so much, it's like she is his own pup. We love how well he works with her and always makes her comfortable when she's stressed. He really was meant to be a vet and it's so awesome to know Abby will always be as healthy as possible in his hands.

Dr. Lakey supported us with both the best clinical and emotional intelligence. Our 9 year old lab suffered from kidney failure unexpectedly. He helped us understand the situation and our options in the most supportive fashion. After a weekend of Annabel needing to stay at the vet Dr. Lakey helped us bring her home for one last night. Just as a pediatrician must connect with the child/patient and the parent Dr. Lakey genuinely cares for our animals and us.

Dr. Lakey is a very compassionate and caring veterinarian with a lot of knowledge, but he is also one of the nicest, most honest and caring human beings you could ever hope to meet. Animals and people alike are just drawn to him and trust him for their veterinary care.

You know you have found a wonderful Vet when your pets (one dog and one cat) are excited coming to the clinic even after they received shots! Dr. Lakey is a loving Hands-on Vet that my pets respond positively to. We've gone to Dr. Lakey for 5 years and we will follow him wherever he goes!
