Dr. Chad Lakey

During veterinary school, his interest quickly shifted to mixed animal medicine (horses, cows, dogs, and cats).  He graduated in 2009 and joined Dr. Gilyard at Clemmons Veterinary Clinic.   Dr. Lakey spent 7 years in Clemmons before purchasing Midway Animal Clinic in the summer of 2016. 

When Dr. Lakey isn't working, you can probably find him spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, or doing farm chores. His wife Kelly is an avid horseback rider and photographer. She is responsible for the beautiful pictures on our website! Together they have three children, Addison, Parker, and Caroline. They live in Davie county with their menagerie of animals: 3 Great Danes and a Golden Retriever, 3 cats, and 4 horses! The 3 danes are all rescues, one of which survived Parvovirus infection and another that suffers from Cushing's Disease. 

Dr. Lakey's professional interests include surgery, endocrinology (Cushing's Disease, Addison's Disease, Diabetes), and allergy management (chronic skin disease, recurrent ear infections, feet-licking).
